Coronation Street's Lisa and Carla unite as Betsy returns home after stroke

Life begins a new chapter for Lisa, Carla and Betsy this week on Corrie, as the teenager is finally discharged from hospital following her stroke. While there are still many hurdles ahead, having Betsy back under the same roof gives the family a fresh start as they face recovery together.

Lisa will have been desperate to bring her daughter home ever since she was admitted to hospital, and her relief is clear when that day finally arrives. Carla is by her side throughout, offering reassurance to both Lisa and Betsy as they begin adjusting to life outside the hospital.

The weeks ahead are far from straightforward, as Betsy's stroke has affected her language and communication. The emotional weight of her recovery soon becomes clear when Betsy reveals she has decided not to move to London after all. With her health still uncertain, she feels it is the right decision to postpone starting her course, leaving Lisa and Carla saddened, but understanding, that she has had to put such important plans on hold while she concentrates on getting better.

Despite those pressures, the upcoming episodes place the spotlight firmly on the strength of Lisa and Carla's relationship as they face another difficult period side by side. Their shared determination to support Betsy at every stage highlights the deep family bond that has developed between them, with each of them doing whatever they can to help Betsy regain her confidence.

There is still a long road ahead, with no doubt a huge amount of rehabilitation and physiotherapy continuing after Betsy's return home, but bringing her back to number six represents an important milestone.

Surrounded by Lisa, Carla and the people who care and love her, Betsy begins the next stage of her recovery knowing she does not have to face it alone.
