Coronation Street’s Fiz turns on Ross as Cassie’s warning starts making sense

When Cassie desperately tried to convince her family that Ross couldn’t be trusted, almost nobody believed her. Now, Coronation Street looks set to revisit those warnings as Fiz becomes increasingly convinced that something about Ross simply doesn’t add up.

Ross appeared to put concerns to bed after explaining Cassie’s disappearance to Steve, insisting he had dropped her off before she left Weatherfield. Steve accepted the explanation and moved on, but Fiz was left with more questions than answers after noticing just how quickly Ross had changed his story.

Her suspicions only continue to grow when Hope later discovers something unusual inside Ross’ wallet. While the programme is keeping the mysterious item a secret for now, it is enough to leave Hope uneasy and prompt her to tell her mum what she has found.

Rather than dismissing Hope’s concerns, Fiz immediately begins joining the dots. Ross had acted surprised when news of Cassie’s departure spread, despite being the last person known to have seen her. He then found himself having to adjust his account after Steve revealed he had witnessed Cassie getting into Ross’ car, leaving Fiz wondering exactly what he is trying to hide.

The timing could hardly be more significant. Cassie spent weeks trying to expose Ross, insisting he was manipulating everyone around him, yet her family repeatedly chose to believe his version of events instead. By the time she left Weatherfield, she had been isolated from the very people she was trying to protect.

Now, with Cassie gone, Fiz finds herself stepping into the role of the family’s sceptic. While Tyrone remains determined to give his father another chance, Fiz appears far less willing to ignore the warning signs. Instead of accepting Ross at face value, she quietly watches his behaviour and begins noticing details that others overlook.

That cautious approach puts Fiz in a very different position from everyone else. She isn’t making accusations without reason, but neither is she prepared to ignore her instincts simply because Ross appears friendly on the surface. Every new inconsistency adds another layer of doubt, and Hope’s discovery only strengthens the feeling that something isn’t right.

By the end of the episode, Fiz makes her feelings perfectly clear. She tells Ross she is prepared to let things slide for now, but warns him that if he puts one foot out of line, he’ll be heading back to Warrington before he knows what’s happened.

It is a firm warning rather than a declaration of war, but it also signals an important shift. Cassie may no longer be around to expose Ross herself, yet Fiz now looks ready to pick up where she left off. If Ross really is hiding something, he may have underestimated the one person prepared to keep watching him.
