Coronation Street's Debbie breaks Ronnie's heart with difficult request

Debbie faces another emotional moment in Coronation Street as she asks Ronnie to discuss her long-term care, determined to have a say in her future while she is still able to make decisions.

Since her dementia diagnosis, Debbie has struggled with the prospect of losing some of her independence. Her relationship with Ronnie has also been affected as they try to come to terms with what the condition could mean for their lives together.

Recent episodes have shown Debbie becoming increasingly concerned about Ronnie's behaviour, particularly when she suspected he was making arrangements for her to enter a care home.

Her fears were heightened when she saw Ronnie talking to Ryan about finding her work, while another encounter led her to question whether he might be seeing someone else.

Now Debbie decides that they need to discuss the future directly. She tells Ronnie that they should talk about her long-term care while she is still able to make decisions for herself.

For Ronnie, the conversation is heartbreaking. The thought of Debbie eventually needing additional care is painful, even though she wants to be involved in making those arrangements. Debbie's determination to discuss the issue shows that she wants her wishes to be heard rather than leave important decisions until later.
