Coronation Street's Carla faces losing everything as newcomer threatens her empire

Carla is facing one of her biggest battles yet in Coronation Street as Underworld is forced to close, leaving the formidable factory boss at risk of losing the business she has spent years building.

But newcomer Idris may have underestimated the woman he is dealing with. Carla has weathered plenty of storms over the years, and she has never been someone to surrender without a fight.

Underworld is Carla's empire, a business that has been central to her life through financial difficulties, personal heartbreak and countless confrontations. She has fought to keep it running before, and her determination has earned her a reputation as one of Weatherfield's toughest residents.

Idris has already shown an interest in the factory, and his latest appearance raises further questions. When Carla and Michael are enjoying a promising meeting with a client, Idris stops the customer as he heads to the toilet.

Further trouble follows when Brody secretly enters the deserted factory, unaware that Leanne is watching. Sally later alerts Carla and Lisa that the factory alarm is sounding.

Carla subsequently breaks the devastating news to her employees that Underworld must close and she can only afford to pay them one month's wages.

However, Sean, Izzy and Michael are not prepared to abandon her. They join Carla in the Rovers and promise to help get the factory back on its feet.

With loyal employees standing behind her and her wife Lisa offering support, Carla has people she can depend on as she faces another fight for her future.

Surely the Queen of the cobbles isn't about to let newcomer Idris defeat her without a fight?
