Coronation Street's Tracy Shaw Shares Positive Breast Cancer Surgery Update
Former Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw celebrates successful breast cancer surgery, thanks NHS staff and shares her next treatment steps.
Former Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw has shared some wonderful news with her Instagram followers after undergoing breast cancer surgery, revealing that the operation went smoothly and her tumours have been removed.
The 52-year-old actress, best known for playing Maxine Peacock between 1995 and 2003, has been openly documenting her cancer journey, sharing both the challenges and encouraging moments with those following her progress.
Her latest update is particularly positive, with Tracy celebrating the outcome of her operation and expressing heartfelt gratitude to the NHS staff, family, friends and followers who have supported her.

Tracy celebrates successful surgery
On Instagram, Tracy told her followers: "Surgery day arrived and went smoothly."
She explained that she had met three surgeons before the operation, with three possible surgical approaches being considered. Trusting the medical team to make the best decision, she placed herself in their hands.
Celebrating afterwards, she wrote: "I still have a breast but with no tumours in, GLORIOUS!!"
Tracy also thanked the NHS, praising everyone working to save lives and help patients towards recovery. She expressed her appreciation to Charlotte, who accompanied her to a pre-operative radiation appointment and drove her to surgery, alongside Louis and Samara, who collected her and supported her afterwards.
Her message was filled with gratitude for the kindness she has received, particularly from her Instagram followers, whose supportive messages meant so much to her.
What happens next for Tracy?
The surgery marks an important milestone following months of treatment. Tracy revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in April and has been sharing her progress while undergoing chemotherapy.
Although the operation has gone well, her treatment journey is continuing. Tracy explained that she expects to receive her results in approximately three weeks and will focus on healing in the meantime.
She is also continuing Phesgo injections, a targeted treatment for HER2-positive breast cancer, before returning to her oncology team for further chemotherapy.
Despite the treatment still ahead, Tracy's latest message was overwhelmingly positive. She encouraged followers to trust the process and said she was feeling amazing and truly blessed.
Sharing her journey with followers
For Coronation Street viewers, Tracy will always be remembered as Maxine, the bubbly hairdresser who married Ashley Peacock before her character was tragically murdered by Richard Hillman in 2003.
More than two decades later, fans have been able to follow a very different and deeply personal chapter of the actress's life.
By documenting her cancer journey, Tracy has shared an insight into the realities of treatment, from difficult moments and uncertainty to the relief and happiness that can accompany positive developments.
Her willingness to speak openly about her experiences may also offer encouragement to others undergoing treatment or supporting someone through a cancer diagnosis.
