Coronation Street Schedule Change Before Sarah Prison Drama

Coronation Street fans face a frustrating pause this coming Tuesday, 25th August, just as several Weatherfield stories are about to step up a gear. Corrie will not air that evening because ITV is clearing the schedule for live Carabao Cup football.

Nottingham Forest face Leeds United at the City Ground in the second round of the competition, with coverage beginning at 7.30pm and kick off at 8pm. It is the sides’ second meeting within days after also facing each other in the Premier League, giving football fans another quick rematch.

Corrie drama pauses at a crucial moment

The break arrives while Sarah remains behind bars and increasingly concerned about what is happening outside prison. Bethany continues to support her, but Kacey’s behaviour leaves Sarah with good reason to worry about Harry.

Ollie and Ben’s rivalry is also continuing, with further trouble developing around Ollie. Meanwhile, Tim and Sally have more problems to contend with as their own storyline moves forward.

Why football has taken over ITV

Mark Pougatch will present the Nottingham Forest v Leeds United coverage from 7.30pm, with Sam Matterface and Lucy Ward providing commentary and Gabriel Clarke reporting. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8pm, meaning it takes over the entire period usually occupied by Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

There is also the possibility of a longer evening if the cup tie requires penalties. ITV’s listings make clear that programmes afterwards could run late or change depending on how the match unfolds.

Major Corrie developments are waiting

Once Weatherfield returns, Sarah’s ordeal takes another disturbing turn when Kacey makes it clear she knows Harry’s name. Bethany then discovers blood on one of Kit’s T shirts, adding another worrying development to the family’s week.

Ollie also finds himself facing serious consequences as police become involved and he is arrested on suspicion of assault. The Tuesday break therefore lands immediately before some of the week’s biggest Corrie developments.
