Coronation Street Sarah takes the stand in murder trial
Sarah faces court over Theo’s death as her trial begins and she is called to give evidence, leaving her future hanging on what happens next.
Sarah’s trial over Theo’s death begins in Coronation Street, with Todd becoming a key figure in the courtroom as he takes the stand and gives evidence in her defence. The proceedings force those closest to Sarah back through the events surrounding Theo’s death, while her future remains in the hands of the court.
Todd’s appearance carries particular weight because of everything he endured during his relationship with Theo. After suffering coercive and controlling behaviour at Theo’s hands, Todd now has to revisit that painful period while giving evidence in a case that could determine what happens to Sarah.

With Todd on the stand, Bethany struggles with what she is hearing in court. Overcome by the proceedings, she hurries out, leaving Sarah’s family dealing with the emotional strain of watching the case unfold.

Attention then turns to Sarah herself when she is called to give evidence. Having spent months dealing with the consequences of Theo’s death and her subsequent arrest, she finally has to face questions in court and give her own account of what happened.
Todd has remained closely connected to Sarah throughout their long history, making his decision to defend her particularly powerful. Their relationship goes back decades, including their former romance and the birth and death of their son Billy, meaning the courtroom scenes bring together two characters whose lives have repeatedly crossed during some of their most painful experiences.
Sarah’s testimony could now prove decisive as the trial moves forward. With Todd having spoken in her defence and Bethany struggling to cope with proceedings, the question is whether Sarah can convince the court and finally put the case behind her.
