Coronation Street Ronnie attacked after car theft row

Ronnie Bailey lands himself in serious trouble in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when a plan involving Idris Nazir’s car ends with him being punched to the ground.

The trouble begins when Ronnie spots Idris’s car and tells Carl Webster that he is considering stealing it for Fiona. Ronnie explains that he feels he owes her because of the missing gun, but the idea quickly threatens to drag him into an even bigger mess.

Before long, Idris confronts Ronnie and accuses him of stealing the car. The argument turns violent when Idris lashes out and punches Ronnie, sending him crashing to the floor.

With tensions already running high, Carl immediately fears Ronnie will retaliate. He urges him not to go looking for revenge and reminds him that Debbie needs calm around her as she continues to struggle with her dementia.

That puts Ronnie in a difficult position. He has just been attacked and publicly accused of theft, but fighting back could create even more chaos at a time when Debbie is becoming increasingly vulnerable.

Carl’s warning is therefore about more than simply stopping another confrontation. Ronnie has been trying to support Debbie, and another feud could pull his attention away from someone who increasingly needs stability around her.

The incident also raises questions over how far Ronnie is prepared to go over the missing gun. What starts as talk of taking Idris’s car has now left him on the floor and facing the possibility of a much more serious conflict.

Whether Ronnie listens to Carl or decides he cannot let Idris’s attack go remains to be seen, but the confrontation has clearly pushed an already dangerous situation further.
