Coronation Street Nina’s Whitby Goth Twist as Exit Nears
Nina thinks she has blown her Whitby interview before receiving a surprise job offer, with the famously Gothic town proving a fitting destination.
Nina Lucas is handed a wonderfully fitting opportunity in upcoming Coronation Street scenes next week when a job interview in Whitby leads to an unexpected offer.
With Mollie Gallagher’s departure from the soap already confirmed, the development is certain to raise questions about whether the famously Gothic seaside town will play a part in Nina’s eventual exit.

Scenes next week show Nina travels to the coastal town of Whitby to interview for a job at an art gallery, but returns to Weatherfield convinced she has completely messed it up.
She tells Roy that she thinks the interview went badly and appears certain that her hopes of securing the position have disappeared.
Feeling disappointed, Nina heads to the Rovers to drown her sorrows, only for events to take a much happier turn.
She later receives a call from the gallery and discovers that, despite everything she believed, she has actually been offered the job.

There could hardly be a more fitting destination for Nina than Whitby.
The Yorkshire town is famous for its strong Gothic identity and long association with goth culture, making it feel particularly suited to a character whose individuality and fabulous distinctive goth style have been such an important part of her time on Coronation Street.
Nina’s goth identity has always been something to celebrate rather than tone down, with the character proudly embracing a look and culture that sets her apart.
Pairing that with an opportunity at an art gallery in Whitby feels like a natural match for her creative, individual personality and could offer her an exciting new chapter.

Mollie Gallagher is confirmed to be leaving Coronation Street, although it has not been confirmed that the Whitby job will ultimately provide Nina’s exit storyline. For now, the offer simply gives Nina a genuine opportunity away from Weatherfield at a particularly significant point in the character’s story.
After returning home convinced she had failed, Nina instead finds herself being offered the job - exactly the sort of fresh start she had been looking for.
If Whitby does become part of her future, it would be a fitting and positive destination for one of Coronation Street’s most brilliant and distinctive characters.
