Coronation Street Gary faces prison risk as Sarah’s trial threatens to expose everything
Coronation Street’s Gary faces his own prison fears as Sarah’s murder trial threatens to expose exactly what he did after Theo’s death.
Sarah may be the one standing trial for Theo’s death, but Coronation Street’s courtroom showdown could leave Gary facing serious consequences of his own.
Viewers know Sarah struck Theo with a scaffolding pole before Gary arrived and helped her cover up what happened.
Gary gave Sarah an alibi, disposed of the weapon and even sent a message from Theo’s phone.

Could Gary really go to prison?
The Crown Prosecution Service says deliberately concealing or destroying evidence, providing a false alibi or giving false information intended to frustrate a police investigation can amount to perverting the course of justice.
Separately, the Criminal Law Act 1967 makes it an offence to knowingly help somebody who has committed a relevant offence where the intention is to impede their apprehension or prosecution.
Exactly what, if anything, Gary could be charged with would depend on the evidence and decisions made by prosecutors.

Gary is questioned on the witness stand as Sarah’s case reaches a crucial stage, while his actions have already caused turmoil at home. Jake is furious that his dad risked his freedom for Sarah and eventually decides he no longer wants to live with him.
Sarah therefore isn't the only Weatherfield resident with everything to lose. Even if her self-defence argument succeeds, it would not automatically erase what Gary allegedly did afterwards.
