Coronation Street fan theory: Could Cassie return after leaving Weatherfield?

Cassie's departure from Weatherfield appears to bring her latest chapter to an end, but the circumstances surrounding her exit could leave the door open for a future return. While she decides to accept a job on a cruise ship after feeling she has nowhere left to stay, several unanswered questions remain.

By the time Cassie leaves, she has lost the trust of many of the people she cares about. Ross has successfully manipulated those around her, leaving Steve, Tracy and others convinced that she has been causing trouble instead of trying to tell the truth.

Despite deciding to walk away, Cassie does not leave because she wants to. Her decision comes after repeated attempts to explain herself fail, leaving her believing a fresh start is the only option available.

One detail that stands out is the uncertainty surrounding her final journey. Cassie accepts a lift from Ross before she is due to leave, but his account of where he dropped her off later changes.
