Coronation Street Brody Exposes Idris in Dramatic Revenge

Brody Michaelis is set to turn the tables on Idris Sharma in Coronation Street when a confrontation over his secret drinking ends with Leanne Battersby discovering exactly what her boyfriend has been hiding.

Idris has arranged a private poker game at Speed Daal as part of his desperate attempt to raise the money he needs to buy Alya Nazir’s £50,000 share of the restaurant. After discovering Ollie is an experienced poker player, Idris sets up the game in his favour and provides him with the cash to play.

Brody and Lauren Bolton are brought in to help prepare Speed Daal for the poker night, but Brody has problems of his own. During the game, he secretly drinks alcohol while Idris remains focused on whether Ollie can deliver the result he needs.

The poker plan appears to work. Ollie eventually beats Fiona Middleton and Idris seems to have pulled off the gamble, but his attention quickly shifts when he discovers Brody has been drinking behind everyone’s backs.

Idris confronts him over what he has done, unaware that Brody knows enough about the night to create a much bigger problem for him.

Rather than quietly accepting the criticism, Brody hits back where it hurts. He goes to Leanne and reveals the truth about Idris’s scheme, including the fact that the poker game was rigged and that money Leanne lent Idris was used to fund it.

It is a devastating piece of information for Leanne, who had no idea what Idris intended to do with her £5,000.

The revelation completely changes Idris’s night. Moments earlier he believed his risky plan had succeeded, but Brody’s decision to expose him means he now has to face the consequences of keeping Leanne in the dark.

When Leanne later encounters Idris outside Speed Daal, she is furious and tells him he is no longer welcome in the restaurant. Idris follows her and desperately attempts to justify his actions, insisting that because the game was fixed, her money had never truly been in danger.

For Leanne, however, Brody’s revelation has exposed far more than a questionable poker game. Idris made a major decision involving her money without telling her, leaving her to discover the truth from somebody else.

Brody may have been the one under pressure when Idris confronted him about drinking, but his retaliation ensures Idris suddenly has far more to worry about.

The poker game might have ended with Ollie winning, yet Brody’s decision to reveal the truth could prove to be the real turning point, particularly if Leanne decides Idris has damaged her trust beyond repair.
