Coronation Street attack confession leaves a family reeling
Eva’s attacker comes forward as guilt takes hold in Coronation Street, leaving their family devastated after Carl faces police questioning over the attack.
Guilt prompts Eva’s attacker Sam to confess in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, leaving his family devastated by the truth. The admission follows a conversation in which Ben reveals that the police have no leads.
Before that breakthrough, Carl becomes the focus of suspicion. Ronnie and Kevin believe he may have robbed the pub and accidentally pushed Eva down the cellar stairs.

Their concerns grow when Carl offers to pay for flowers and opens a wallet containing a large amount of cash. Given his recent money problems, Ronnie finds the sight difficult to dismiss.
Carl maintains that he helped Eva clear up because she was alone and feeling unwell, then went home. He insists he had nothing to do with the attack, despite the doubts held by people close to him.
The police take him in for questioning, but he continues protesting his innocence. He is subsequently released, with the investigation still continuing .

For Ben, the uncertainty comes alongside the distress of seeing Eva injured in hospital. Whoever pushed her also left her without help throughout the night, adding to the seriousness of what happened.
Coronation Street continues on ITV1. Episodes are also available on ITVX.
