Coronation Street 11 to 16 October Toyah confronts Leanne

Toyah Battersby makes a serious accusation against her sister in Coronation Street as the bistro is hit by food poisoning complaints and questions grow over how the business is being run.

The trouble begins when Tracy furiously confronts Leanne and accuses her of poisoning her family with undercooked food. Idris is soon dealing with complaints from angry customers suffering from food poisoning, while Ollie carries out a full inspection of the kitchen.

His inspection reveals that all the meat served the previous night was past its sell-by date.

Leanne then realises that Nick was responsible for the delivery, leaving the question of whether it was simply an honest mistake or whether he could be sabotaging their business.

Nick later admits they can no longer afford to pay their meat supplier and have been reduced to buying meat from Freshco.

Leanne suggests that they should cut their losses and sell the business, but Toyah believes something else is happening.

Toyah confronts Leanne on the street and tells her she has worked out that Leanne and Idris are trying to sabotage the bistro so they can buy it for a knock-down price.

Idris later takes another swipe at Nick when he visits Speed Daal, winding him up by claiming both his relationship with Sam and his business are on their knees.

Meanwhile, Sarah Barlow’s trial begins after Todd accidentally reveals Kit’s breast cancer diagnosis. Bethany and Todd are visiting Sarah when she says she understands Kit’s decision not to help her, only for Todd to blurt out the truth.

Bethany is horrified and Sarah reels from the revelation. At the hospital, Kit receives support from Bernie as they talk about stories from his childhood, before he prepares for his first chemotherapy session as Brody arrives to see him.

Todd later takes the stand and defends Sarah.

Bethany eventually becomes upset and leaves the courtroom, before returning home and putting pressure on Kit to do the right thing, while Sarah herself later gives evidence.

Debbie has growing worries of her own after seeing Ronnie talking with Ryan at the Chariot Square.

Ronnie thanks Ryan for finding Debbie some work to keep her busy, but Debbie becomes suspicious and later tells Abi she believes Ronnie is seeing somebody else and plans to put her into a care home.

Abi then passes Victoria Garden and spots Ronnie with his arms around another woman. Elsewhere, Ross suggests making his visits to the local boxing gym with Tyrone a weekly event, but Tyrone turns him down and Ross is left annoyed.

With accusations flying at the bistro and Sarah’s trial putting further pressure on those closest to her, several Weatherfield stories move forward this week.
