Cheech the Chihuahua Steals the Show at Halifax Pride in His Tiny Rainbow Car
Meet Cheech, the tiny Chihuahua who became an unexpected star of Halifax Pride after cruising through the celebrations in a miniature red car covered in rainbow flags.
A tiny Chihuahua in an equally tiny red convertible has captured hearts after making a memorable appearance at Halifax Pride in Nova Scotia, Canada. Cheech cruised through the Pride celebrations in his miniature car, complete with rainbow flags flying behind him, and quickly became one of the event’s most adorable attractions.
Videos shared online show Cheech calmly making his way along the Pride route while people watch from the roadside. One widely shared clip simply described him as “The star of Halifax Pride”, and judging by the reaction, plenty of viewers agreed.
Comments underneath the footage included “The people’s princess”, “This is everything” and “So cute”, while another person joked: “Get in loser, we’re going to Halifax Pride!”
Cheech already has his own Instagram account, where his adventures extend well beyond Pride. His page features everything from sunglasses and outfits to appearances alongside his seven canine brothers, with the little red car making several appearances of its own.
The Chihuahua’s profile describes him as loving food, playing with his brothers and sharing his “everyday adventures and photobombs”. His Pride appearance has now given those adventures a particularly colourful addition.
Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia on Canada’s Atlantic coast, and its Pride celebrations bring the local LGBTQ+ community and supporters together for events across the city. Cheech’s miniature Pride drive proved that some of the biggest reactions can come from the smallest participants.
