Blue Lights Season 4 finally has a BBC release date as a dangerous new threat and long-buried secret hit Belfast.
Blue Lights is officially coming back this month, and the officers of Blackthorn Station are about to be pushed to their limits.
The BBC has confirmed that Season 4 of the hit Belfast police drama begins on Tuesday 29 September, bringing Grace, Annie and Tommy back for six new episodes and a story that threatens to shake both sides of Belfast.
Three years into their careers as response officers, the trio are no longer the inexperienced recruits viewers first met. But their growing confidence is about to be seriously tested as a dangerous new threat emerges and a murder trial threatens to expose a secret that has remained buried for years.
What happens in Blue Lights Season 4?
Grace, Annie and Tommy return with considerably more experience behind them, but the BBC says the officers are now operating “at their limit”.
Meanwhile, the murder trial of Gerry Cliff begins to uncover a long-buried secret with potentially devastating consequences.
The revelation threatens both the police and Belfast’s criminal underworld, setting up another tense run of episodes as the officers find themselves caught in an increasingly dangerous situation.
Siân Brooke returns as Grace Ellis alongside Katherine Devlin as Annie Conlon and Nathan Braniff as Tommy Foster, while Martin McCann is back as Stevie Neil.

Blue Lights has already secured its future
Season 4 isn’t being prepared as the end of the story. The BBC previously commissioned a fifth season, meaning there is already more Blue Lights to come after this latest six-episode run.
