LGBTQ+ charities across Australia are making a final appeal for support after a major national fundraising campaign passed the $500,000 milestone, bringing its ambitious $650,000 target within reach.
Rainbow Giving Australia’s GiveOUT Day campaign has brought together approximately 150 LGBTQ+ causes, raising money for organisations providing essential services and creating welcoming spaces for communities across the country.
Although the main fundraising day took place on 15 October, bonus donations remain available until Thursday 22 October, giving supporters another opportunity to help participating organisations reach their targets.
More than $500,000 raised for LGBTQ+ causes
Organisers celebrated reaching half a million dollars during the campaign, with further donations helping close the gap towards the overall $650,000 goal.
GiveOUT Day supports organisations working across mental health, education, legal assistance, advocacy and community inclusion.
Many participating groups operate with limited financial resources despite increasing demand for their services.
Rainbow Giving Australia has previously highlighted how 54% of LGBTQ+ causes operate on annual budgets below $50,000, while 74% have experienced increased demand over the past year.
The campaign is designed to provide practical financial assistance while introducing community organisations to new supporters.
Final opportunity for bonus donations
Eligible donations can benefit from additional funding through the campaign’s matching arrangements, subject to available funds and individual limits.
Supporters can select an organisation whose work matters to them, with causes ranging from health and wellbeing projects to community programmes helping LGBTQ+ people build connections.
One participating organisation, the Euphoria Foundation, has been seeking $10,000 to support its work promoting LGBTQ+ mental health and belonging through the 314 Movement.
The fundraising drive follows a successful 2025 GiveOUT campaign, which raised more than $635,000 for LGBTQ+ organisations across Australia.
With the extended bonus donation deadline approaching, Rainbow Giving Australia is encouraging supporters to make a final contribution and help community organisations continue their work.
