Linda Carter faces another confrontation with Janine Butcher in EastEnders next week after an unexpected phone call leaves her searching for answers about Lee.
The trouble begins when Linda discovers that Lee has spent the night sleeping on Sean's floor after drinking too much. Before she can challenge her son, she answers a call on his phone and is shaken by what she hears.
Linda turns to Elaine and Sharon for support before confiding in Max, but her concerns deepen when Lee causes a drunken disturbance in The Vic.
Determined to discover what is happening, Linda confronts Janine. Whatever she learns during their conversation leaves her deeply unsettled, and she refuses to accept Janine's account.
The confrontation has additional significance because of the women's complicated history. Janine previously manipulated Linda's relationship with Mick, concealed her involvement in the car crash that nearly killed Linda and eventually married Mick herself.
Their rivalry reached a devastating point when Mick disappeared at sea after attempting to save Linda during another dangerous incident involving Janine.
