'I'm out, bitches!' Boomer is back as Wentworth Halfway Home releases first look
Binge has released the first look at Wentworth: Halfway Home, five years to the day since the original finale. Here is what we know about Boomer's new life, the team behind it and the wait for UK viewers.
Wentworth fans have finally been given their first proper glimpse of Boomer's life on the outside, and she's making sure everyone knows she's leaving prison behind.
Binge released a first-look clip for Wentworth: Halfway Home on Monday 26 October in Australia, exactly five years after the original prison drama aired its final episode in 2021.
The footage features a classic Boomer moment as she prepares to leave prison, shouting "I'm out, bitches!" before laughter follows.
It's the sort of farewell fans would expect from Susan "Boomer" Jenkins, played once again by Katrina Milosevic, and a welcome reminder of the humour that made her such a popular character.
The timing of the trailer's release marks a significant anniversary for Wentworth, bringing the spin-off back into the spotlight five years after viewers said goodbye to the women of Wentworth Correctional Centre.

Boomer's new life outside Wentworth
Halfway Home follows Boomer after she is granted parole and arrives at Sal's Halfway House, determined to win custody of her daughter and build a more settled future for them both.
However, leaving prison does not mean leaving trouble behind. When a body is discovered at the house, Boomer finds herself surrounded by women with criminal pasts, unsure who she can trust and facing the possibility that her freedom could be short-lived.

Nicole da Silva also returns as Franky Doyle, while Kate Box reprises her role as Lou Kelly. All three characters will be familiar to the show's devoted audience, including the large LGBTQ+ following that helped make Wentworth an international success.

Boomer's prison farewell provides one of the clip's standout moments. Her familiar attitude is still very much present, even as she prepares for a life that promises an entirely different set of challenges.
Nine more stars join the cast
The first look arrives alongside nine newly announced cast members: Nadine Garner, Elaine Crombie, Grace Chow, Sara West, Claude Jabbour, Daniel Henshall, Laura Gordon, Thom Green and Chika Ikogwe.
They join Rachel Griffiths as Moira, Sophie Lowe as Sam, Alex King as Dee and Chenile Chandler as Lily, who were announced previously.
We looked at the new arrivals in more detail in our guide to who's joining Boomer in Wentworth: Halfway Home.
Garner, perhaps best known to UK viewers for The Doctor Blake Mysteries, previously described joining the production as "a real thrill", having admired the original series from afar.
When can UK fans watch Wentworth Halfway Home?
Wentworth: Halfway Home is a Fremantle Australia production for Binge, with filming taking place in Melbourne. Gracie Otto is the set-up director, while the writing team includes co-executive producer Jessica Paine. Carly Heaton and Brett Popplewell serve as executive producers.
Fremantle also produced the original Wentworth, which reimagined the classic Australian drama Prisoner and went on to reach audiences in more than 170 territories.
Australian viewers will also have an opportunity to revisit the original series, with every episode heading to Foxtel's More Pop-Up Hits channel from 11 November, alongside its availability on Binge.
Halfway Home is expected to premiere on Binge and Foxtel in Australia in late 2026, although an exact release date and UK broadcaster or streaming service have not yet been announced, so UK fans will have to wait a but longer!
For British fans who have followed Boomer's journey for years, the first look is a welcome sign that her story is continuing.
And judging by her final words as she walks out of prison, she's certainly not planning on making a quiet exit.
