Their unexpected meeting in the rain becomes the beginning of a personal connection that neither appears eager to leave behind.
Amanda helps Clarice through a frightening night
Amanda finds Clarice injured in the rain and gently encourages her to accept medical attention. Clarice initially resists going to hospital, but Amanda explains that the wound needs proper cleaning and may require stitches.
At the hospital, Clarice receives five stitches. Amanda gives her instructions for keeping the dressing dry, arranging stitch removal and avoiding excessive strain on her injured arm. Their conversation becomes warmer when Clarice thanks Amanda for her care, describing her as the kind of doctor people remember.
Amanda insists she would not have done anything differently, although the exchange suggests that their encounter has become more meaningful than an ordinary medical appointment.
