The Mousetrap Reveals New Cast and Theatre Makeover Ahead of 75th Year
The Mousetrap unveils a new cast, director and major St Martin's Theatre refurbishment as the famous mystery enters its 75th year.
Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap is preparing for one of its biggest updates in years, with a new cast, director, refreshed stage design and extensive improvements to its historic London home.
The changes arrive as the world's longest-running play prepares to enter its 75th year in the West End, with a special gala performance planned for 25 November.
New Cast and Creative Team
Hannah Chissick, who currently directs the production's UK and Ireland tour, will take charge of the West End staging at St Martin's Theatre.
The new cast begins performances on 11 November, with Sarah Twomey playing Mollie Ralston and Dan Nicholson appearing as Giles Ralston.
They are joined by Jonathan Cobb as Detective Sergeant Trotter, Marcus Adolphy as Major Metcalf, Rosa Coduri-Fulford as Miss Casewell and Dean Graham as Mr Paravicini.
Jake Rory will play Christopher Wren, while Gay Soper takes on the role of Mrs Boyle. Behind the scenes, Walt Spangler will oversee new set designs, Nic Farman will be responsible for lighting and Max Perryment will provide sound design.
Historic Theatre Gets a New Look
The changes extend beyond the stage, with St Martin's Theatre undergoing a substantial refurbishment.
Studio Shayne Brady is overseeing improvements to the building's interiors, including redesigned bars and decorative changes throughout the stalls, dress circle and upper circle.
Mr Lyan Studio is also creating a new cocktail menu inspired by the world of Agatha Christie. The investment is intended to improve the audience experience while preserving the character of the theatre and the famous murder mystery at its centre.
When Does The Mousetrap Celebrate Its Anniversary?
The Mousetrap first opened in London's West End on 25 November 1952, meaning the same date in 2026 marks 74 completed years and the start of its 75th year.
A gala performance will take place on 25 November, while the new cast begins performances two weeks earlier.
The production continues at St Martin's Theatre, where generations of audiences have been asked to keep the identity of the murderer secret.
