The Cadburys First Look Reveals Cast of New British Drama
First pictures show The Cadburys, a new six-part drama about the chocolate-making family set to arrive on U in 2027.
New first-look photographs from The Cadburys reveal the world of the Birmingham chocolate-making family whose name became internationally famous. Toby Regbo, Harry Gilby and Jessica Barden lead the six-part drama, which has completed filming in and around Birmingham.
What Is The Cadburys About?

The drama is set in nineteenth-century Birmingham and follows the Cadbury family as they negotiate business competition, personal rivalries and complicated relationships.
George Cadbury's ambitions to develop solid eating cocoa are part of the story, alongside romances involving other members of the family.

The production is inspired by Deborah Cadbury's book Chocolate Wars. It draws on real historical figures but dramatises conversations and events, so it should not be treated as a literal documentary account of the business.

Who Stars in the Drama?
Harry Gilby plays George Cadbury, Toby Regbo portrays Richard and Jessica Barden appears as Maria. Pearce Quigley takes the role of John, while Ben Hardy plays Francis Fry and Poppy Gilbert portrays Elizabeth Adlington. Joanna Scanlan and Mathew Baynton are among the additional performers.
Chloë Mi Lin Ewart leads the writing team, with Tom McKay and Jill Robertson directing. Fable Pictures and Alfresco Pictures are behind the programme, which was filmed in Birmingham and the surrounding region.
Is The Cadburys Coming to the UK?

For UK viewers, the important distinction is that the programme will launch in 2027 on U, the free streaming service, and air on U&DRAMA.
