That growing attraction becomes harder to ignore when they later work outside together and Ana has to physically guide Noémie into position. Their usual teasing continues, but being so close suddenly feels very different from trading remarks from opposite sides of a corridor.

A technical problem aboard the ship also gives Noémie an opportunity to prove that she can be much more than the filmmaker constantly testing Ana’s patience. She follows instructions, helps record vital information and proves useful when the pressure rises.

Ana even admits that Noémie can be efficient when she actually follows orders, which feels like considerable progress from their first encounter. More importantly, Noémie manages to make the normally guarded captain smile, offering another small but telling sign of how much their relationship is changing.

By this point in Polaris, Ana is still calling her Morin and Noémie is still testing almost every boundary placed in front of her, but that is exactly what makes their slow burn so compelling. Their clashes are entertaining, their quieter moments are increasingly tender and the chemistry continues to build without rushing the relationship.
