Netflix has released the full trailer for its forthcoming adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, giving viewers their clearest look yet at Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet and the developing romance between Emma Corrin's Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden's Mr Darcy.
The footage, unveiled on Thursday 29 October 2026, introduces the family disagreements, awkward encounters and romantic misunderstandings at the centre of Dolly Alderton's six-part adaptation of Jane Austen's celebrated novel.
With the series arriving on Netflix on Thursday 3 December, the latest preview also reveals more of the supporting cast, including Rufus Sewell, Fiona Shaw and Louis Partridge.
Olivia Colman Brings Mrs Bennet to Life
One of the most memorable moments in the new trailer features Colman's Mrs Bennet calling out to her husband, played by Rufus Sewell, as the family attempts to navigate the pressures of marriage, social expectations and securing suitable futures for their five daughters.
The footage introduces the Bennet sisters at their family home, Longbourn, where Elizabeth and Jane find themselves increasingly drawn into the romantic possibilities and misunderstandings surrounding the arrival of wealthy newcomers.
Freya Mavor plays Jane, while Rhea Norwood appears as Lydia, Hollie Avery as Kitty and Hopey Parish as Mary.
Beyond the Bennet household, the trailer offers glimpses of Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley and Louis Partridge as Mr Wickham, while Fiona Shaw takes on the imposing role of Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden's Romance Takes Shape
At the centre of the new footage is the complicated relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy, whose initial impressions of one another create a series of misunderstandings.
The trailer shows their encounters against the backdrop of grand country estates, formal gatherings and the English countryside, with the tension between their contrasting personalities forming an important part of the story.
Corrin has described the scripts as combining the authenticity of Austen's original setting with social observations that continue to resonate with modern audiences.
Lowden has also spoken about the appeal of the novel's romantic storytelling, particularly its ability to offer humour and hope while exploring the difficulties of relationships.
Dolly Alderton Initially Feared Taking on Jane Austen
Alderton, whose previous work includes Everything I Know About Love, has written all six episodes, with Heartstopper director Euros Lyn overseeing the production.
The writer has revealed that she initially questioned whether she should accept the project because of the responsibility involved in adapting such a familiar novel.
"I absolutely cannot do this. This is everyone's favorite book. It's too much responsibility," she recalled thinking when first approached.
Alderton eventually embraced the opportunity, explaining that the six-part format allows the adaptation to explore characters and storylines that have sometimes received less attention in previous versions.
The production retains the novel's historical setting while examining familiar concerns surrounding love, family expectations, personal independence and mistaken judgements.
When Is Pride and Prejudice Released?
The new adaptation premieres globally on Netflix on Thursday 3 December 2026, with Emma Corrin also serving as an executive producer alongside Alderton and Lyn.
