Netherlands LGBTQ+ Workplace Organisation Begins New Era After 20 Years

International LGBTQ+ workplace organisation Workplace Pride is entering a new chapter after announcing a leadership change following two decades under its founder.

David Pollard is stepping down as Executive Director after 20 years, with Javier Leonor announced as his successor.

Based in Amsterdam, Workplace Pride Foundation works internationally to improve LGBTQ+ inclusion within workplaces and supports organisations seeking to create environments where LGBTQ+ employees can be themselves at work.

The leadership change therefore marks more than an internal appointment for the organisation. It comes after two decades in which LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion has developed significantly across many international companies, while considerable differences remain between countries.

Pollard has been closely associated with Workplace Pride’s development and its work connecting employers, LGBTQ+ employee networks and organisations internationally.

Leonor will now take responsibility for leading the organisation into its next phase.

Workplace Pride operates internationally and works with employers and partners across different countries, giving the announcement relevance beyond its Netherlands base.

The organisation’s wider work focuses on areas including workplace inclusion, LGBTQ+ employee networks, international cooperation and encouraging employers to create environments where LGBTQ+ staff can participate openly and safely.

The change provides Workplace Pride with an opportunity to build on its first 20 years while continuing that work across an increasingly complex international workplace landscape.
