Mack Boyd Becomes Key to Charity Dingle’s Prison Plan
Mack Boyd is handed an important task by Charity Dingle as she asks him to deliver her St Christopher pendant to Cain while she remains behind bars.
Mack finds himself pulled directly into Charity’s worsening situation when she asks him to carry out an important task on her behalf.
Charity remains behind bars after being charged with Todd’s murder, but she is determined to get a message through to Cain. Rather than relying on words, she gives Mack her St Christopher pendant and asks him to take it to Cain.
Charity is certain Cain will immediately understand what the gesture means. That leaves Mack carrying something far more significant than an ordinary piece of jewellery, because the pendant is being used to communicate something Charity believes Cain needs to know.
For Mack, the request places him right in the middle of a situation that is already becoming increasingly serious. Charity’s future is hanging in the balance, and she is trusting him to make sure her message reaches the one person she believes will understand it.
The fact Charity chooses Mack for the job also shows how much she is relying on those closest to her while she remains unable to deal with events herself. She cannot simply leave and speak to Cain, so Mack becomes the crucial link between them.
There is still a major mystery surrounding what the pendant will mean to Cain. Charity has insisted that the full story behind Todd’s death has yet to emerge, making every decision she takes from prison potentially important.
