Inside Samsarah: How Isabelle Is Building a New WLW Series With AI

Creating Samsarah might begin with artificial intelligence, but there is considerably more happening behind the screen than simply entering a prompt and waiting for a finished scene.

Creator Isabelle is currently working full time on the new WLW AI series, personally handling almost every stage required to take Samantha and Sarah from an idea on the page to a finished episode online.

The project is particularly suited to Isabelle because she has always thought visually. Samantha and Sarah existed as written characters for years, but translating those ideas into the images and emotions she could already see in her head had previously felt out of reach.

Each episode begins with the story itself. Dialogue has to be written, scenes need to be broken apart and Isabelle has to decide which individual shots are required before she can begin thinking about what those scenes will actually look like.

Then comes the visual world around Samantha and Sarah. Sets need to feel consistent, outfits have to suit the characters and individual moments must visually communicate the emotion Isabelle wants the audience to understand.

“There is writing the dialogue, breaking down the scenes and the different shots, and creating the visuals for the sets, the different outfits, and so on. Then comes the AI generation for the scenes.”

AI generation brings another layer of work rather than removing one. Isabelle is French, while the prompts she uses are written in English, something she readily jokes adds another challenge to an already demanding production process.

She is also still learning what the technology can and cannot do. AI does not always produce exactly what she originally pictured, meaning scenes can require adjustments, repeated attempts or even a rethink of how a moment should be presented.

“I find that AI is a true creative booster. Sometimes, it allows me to visualize a scene from a completely different perspective than what I originally had in mind.”

That unpredictability can occasionally work in the series' favour. A generation that moves away from the original idea can suggest another way of approaching a shot, meaning the technology becomes part of the creative conversation without taking control of the story.

Once the visuals are finished, the episode still has to be put together. Isabelle edits the material, searches for appropriate sound effects and music, then adds English subtitles so viewers around the world can follow Samantha and Sarah more easily.

The workload continues even after an episode is complete. Isabelle also creates the shorter videos and promotional material used across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, meaning building an audience has become another part of producing Samsarah.

That makes the project an interesting example of how AI is beginning to change independent entertainment. It does not remove the writing, planning, editing or creative decision making, but it can give an individual creator access to visual storytelling that would previously have required a much larger production.

For Isabelle, the most important result is that Samantha and Sarah now exist beyond the pages where they spent so many years. The technology may make their world visible, but their personalities, dialogue, relationship and future remain firmly driven by the creator behind them.

Samsarah is still a very new WLW AI series, and Isabelle says she is learning with every episode she produces.
