Icebreaker Episodes 34 and 35 Ana Opens Up Before a Card Game Takes an Unexpected Turn

The storm that has left Ana and Noémie stranded ashore finally gives them something they rarely have aboard the Polaris. For once, there are no duties pulling them in opposite directions and no easy way to avoid a conversation that has been waiting to happen.

Episodes 34 and 35 begin with Noémie gently returning to something Ana had said earlier. She wants to understand whether Ana's uncertainty about their relationship came from never having been with a woman before, but Ana quickly makes it clear that this is not the case.

Ana reveals that she once had a serious relationship with a woman who wanted a home, plans and a more settled future. Ana cared about her, but she became convinced that staying would eventually lead to disappointment, so she chose to leave before that could happen.

The conversation then moves towards Ana's family and gives Noémie another rare glimpse behind the captain's carefully guarded exterior. Ana explains that she was born in Lebanon, that her father was born in Egypt and that her parents met after he moved to Lebanon for work.

Ana also reveals that she has a brother and that the family later moved to Montreal while she was still young. Noémie recognises that Ana is sharing something she does not normally discuss and gives her the space to decide how much she wants to say.

Noémie soon finds herself answering the questions too. She admits to having had three serious relationships, all of which were affected by the constant travelling that has become such a major part of her life.

At first, being with someone who was always on the move seemed exciting, but over time the missed birthdays, dinners and holidays began to matter. One former girlfriend eventually told Noémie that being with her felt like dating a departure board, a comment that Noémie admits was harsh but not entirely unfair.

By the time the conversation moves on to favourite films, Ana and Noémie have been talking for hours without realising it. Morning arrives before either of them notices, showing just how easily the night has passed while they have been learning more about each other.

The weather is not ready to send them back to the Polaris either. Winds remain around 45 knots and the forecast suggests they could stay high for several days, which means Ana and Noémie may be spending even more time together than expected.

Sophie finally discovers Emily's secret

Back aboard the Polaris, Sophie and Julien are dealing with the situation in a very different way. Julien is temporarily enjoying having the bridge, but he is even more entertained by the idea of Ana and Noémie being stranded together in a hotel room.

Their teasing soon turns towards everything that has been happening among the crew. Julien mentions that Emily once had a crush on someone, only to discover that Sophie has completely missed what was apparently obvious to everyone else.

The person Emily liked was Sophie herself, leaving the normally observant Sophie stunned. Julien enjoys the moment, especially after reminding her that people are often worst at noticing feelings when those feelings are directed at them.

Later, Ana and Noémie turn to a simple game of cards to pass the time. The relaxed game quickly becomes competitive, with accusations of cheating, smug looks and plenty of teasing from both sides.

Ana discovers that Noémie has a surprisingly ruthless side when she starts winning. Noémie, meanwhile, seems to enjoy watching Ana become increasingly frustrated, which only makes the game more entertaining.

Then Ana loses, but her reaction is not what Noémie expects. Instead of complaining about the result, Ana decides that losing may have been worth it and moves towards Noémie, leaving her visibly surprised as the episode comes to an end.

Icebreaker episodes 34 and 35, titled The Bed, were released publicly on YouTube on 3 September 2026 after early member access on 2 September. The series can be watched through the official Icebreaker WLW YouTube channel, where new episodes continue the story of Ana, Noémie and the Polaris crew.
