Who Is Trina in Wentworth Halfway Home and Is She Related to Boomer

Sara West plays Trina in Wentworth Halfway Home. Her character shares a name with Boomer's sister, but the connection remains unconfirmed.

Wentworth: Halfway Home has introduced another intriguing name to its new cast: Trina, played by Australian actress Sara West.

The character's name will be familiar to long-time Wentworth viewers because Boomer had a sister called Trina in the original series.

However, there is an important distinction between a matching name and a confirmed family connection.

Who Plays Trina in Wentworth Halfway Home?

Sara West is among the actors announced for the new drama, alongside Nadine Garner, Grace Chow and Elaine Crombie.

Official first-look and casting material confirms West's involvement, while newly released character information identifies her role as Trina.

West has previously appeared in Australian television productions including Neighbours and Troppo.

The new series follows Susan ‘Boomer’ Jenkins after her release from prison, as she moves into a halfway house and tries to build a future with her daughter.

The setting introduces a group of women with complicated pasts, but the producers have not yet publicly explained Trina's place in that group.

Is Trina Boomer's Sister?

The name creates an obvious question for fans of the original drama. Boomer's sister was also named Trina, making it possible that the new character is connected to her existing family story.

Yet the recent casting information has not confirmed that Sara West is playing the same person, or even that the two characters are related.

What Could Trina Mean for the Story?

Boomer hopes to remain free and regain custody of her daughter, but the discovery of a dead resident brings suspicion to the house.

A character who might have ties to her past could complicate those ambitions, although that is only one possibility. The series has yet to reveal whether Trina will help Boomer or become another source of trouble.
