Huge New 2,300m² Gay Venue Set to Open in Gran Canaria
A huge new 2,300m² gay entertainment venue is being built in Playa del Inglés, Gran Canaria, with bars, dancing and relaxation areas planned for an October 2026 opening.
Gran Canaria’s famous LGBTQ+ nightlife scene is preparing for a major new addition, with a huge 2,300-square-metre gay entertainment venue currently under construction in Playa del Inglés.
Listed as Club Sun Construction, the new development is expected to open in October 2026, adding another large-scale attraction to one of Europe’s most popular destinations for LGBTQ+ travellers. Current information describes the project as a gay venue combining places to relax, dance, drink and socialise, alongside a dedicated play area.
The sheer size of the development makes it particularly interesting. At around 2,300 square metres, Club Sun would be considerably more substantial than a traditional bar or nightclub and appears designed as a multi-area entertainment destination rather than a single nightlife venue.
A major addition to Playa del Inglés

Playa del Inglés already attracts huge numbers of LGBTQ+ visitors throughout the year, with much of its gay nightlife centred around the Yumbo Centre and surrounding resort area.
The arrival of another large gay-focused venue could give visitors even more choice beyond the established bars, clubs and late-night venues that have made the resort one of Europe’s best-known LGBTQ+ holiday destinations.
Gay Gran Canaria currently describes Club Sun as being under construction and promotes relaxation areas, dancing, bars and a play area within the development. An October 2026 opening is being advertised, although an exact opening date has not yet been announced publicly.
That timing would place its expected launch during one of the busiest periods in Gran Canaria’s autumn LGBTQ+ calendar, with events including Maspalomas Fetish Pride bringing additional visitors to the south of the island during October.
Gran Canaria continues to grow
The development adds to an already sizeable LGBTQ+ tourism scene around Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, where visitors can combine beaches and year-round sunshine with bars, clubs, saunas, pool venues and major annual events.
For UK travellers, Gran Canaria also remains particularly accessible as a winter-sun destination, making a major new permanent nightlife venue potentially more significant than another temporary party or festival.
More information about Club Sun, including its individual spaces, opening celebrations and final launch date, is expected as construction progresses. For now, Gay Gran Canaria lists the 2,300m² development as opening in October 2026.
With a huge new venue on the way and a packed LGBTQ+ events calendar continuing into autumn and winter, Playa del Inglés looks set to give gay travellers another reason to put Gran Canaria on their holiday list.
