Home and Away Zane vanishes as Marilyn’s worst fear hits
Home and Away’s Marilyn desperately searches for Zane as fears grow that missing his official check-in could bring the police looking for him.
Marilyn’s determination to stand by Zane faces a new test in Home and Away as his disappearance threatens to become much more serious than simply leaving Summer Bay. With official paperwork still hanging over him, the clock is beginning to work against them both.
Leah is already feeling Marilyn’s absence at the Diner and admits to Alf that she regrets judging Zane so quickly. Alf acknowledges that he was also too quick to form an opinion, but his own attempt to protect Zane has now placed him in an uncomfortable position.
When David asks about paperwork connected to Zane’s address, Alf claims Zane is away fishing. The lie buys Zane more time, but Alf later admits to Marilyn that he is not prepared to keep covering for him indefinitely.
Marilyn understands the problem, yet giving up on Zane is not an option for her. She promised she would be there for him, and his disappearance only makes her more determined to find him before the situation escalates.
She goes back through their correspondence looking for anything that could hint at where Zane might have gone. Nothing offers a clear lead, and the lack of answers makes her increasingly anxious.
The real danger is that Zane could miss an official check-in. If that happens, his absence may stop being something Marilyn and Alf can quietly handle and become a matter the police are forced to pursue.
That possibility makes Zane’s decision to disappear even more troubling. He left because he believed he was protecting Marilyn from further conflict, yet staying away could create exactly the kind of crisis he was trying to avoid.
Marilyn has already shown that she believes Zane deserves more than another round of judgement and rejection. Now she may have to prove that commitment by finding him before his attempt to run from trouble creates much bigger consequences.
