Home and Away Zane found injured after vanishing from Summer Bay
Home and Away’s missing Zane is finally found injured and scavenging for food, but his return exposes just how badly his fresh start has unravelled.
Zane’s disappearance takes a troubling turn in Home and Away when Mali finally finds him injured, hungry and scavenging for food. After leaving Summer Bay because he believed his presence was making Marilyn’s life worse, it becomes clear just how far Zane has fallen while trying to stay away.
Alf is beginning to fear Zane may be long gone when Mali reports there is still no sign of him. That changes dramatically when Mali takes out the rubbish and is startled to discover Zane searching for food in a dumpster.
Zane cuts himself as he tries to get away, but even then his instinct is to avoid help. He refuses to go to hospital and makes clear that he wants nothing involving police, suggesting his fear of getting into more trouble has become stronger than his willingness to look after himself.
John attempts first aid, but the wound appears serious enough that stitches may be needed. Mali eventually persuades Zane to go to hospital and reassures him that Levi is someone he can trust.
The hospital creates another problem when Levi attempts to stitch Zane’s wound himself. After removing his brace, it quickly becomes obvious that his injured hand is not ready for the procedure, and both Mali and Zane can see that something is wrong.
Zane tries to leave again, only to come face to face with Marilyn. She has rushed to the hospital after hearing he has finally been found and refuses to let him disappear for a second time.
When Zane explains that he ran because he believed he was ruining Marilyn’s life, she makes her position unmistakable. Marilyn reminds him that she is on his side and makes him promise that he will not run away again.
Her solution goes even further when she decides Zane should leave the caravan park and move into the house. Zane may have returned to Summer Bay, but living under Alf’s roof could prove the real test of whether his second chance can finally begin.
