Home and Away theory: Could Jo become David and Amelia's biggest supporter?

Jo has been the first person to question David and Amelia's growing connection, but could Home and Away be setting her up to play a very different role in their story?

Rather than dismissing the signs she has noticed, Jo has repeatedly challenged her father about the amount of time he has been spending with Amelia. From David's point of view, there is nothing to discuss, but Jo cannot ignore what she sees as increasingly mixed messages between the pair.

As events unfold, her instincts appear to have been justified. Lacey decides to speak to Amelia directly, hoping to finally put the rumours to rest. Instead, she comes away with even more uncertainty after Amelia struggles to give a convincing answer about where things stand with David.

The situation takes another unexpected turn when Justin admits that Jo may not have imagined everything after all.

His comments prompt David to meet Amelia in the hope of clearing the air once and for all. However, the conversation quickly becomes emotional when Amelia asks whether it would really be the worst thing in the world if she had developed feelings for him.

David's silence speaks louder than words. Unsure how to respond, David hesitates, leaving Amelia feeling hurt and rejected before she walks away. The awkward encounter creates even more uncertainty, with neither of them knowing where they stand.

The following day only makes matters worse. Amelia is forced to face Jo and Lacey after the uncomfortable conversation, while David later turns to his counsellor, Jared, for guidance. During their session, Jared asks David a question he cannot avoid forever. Does he have feelings for Amelia too?

That moment could have important consequences for Jo. Until now, she has been focused on uncovering the truth, but if David begins admitting his own feelings, Jo may find herself wanting something very different. After everything her father has endured, she knows how difficult his recovery has been and how much Amelia has supported him behind the scenes.

Jo has already seen how much happier David has become as he has slowly rebuilt his confidence. If she comes to believe Amelia has played an important part in that recovery, she may decide that supporting the relationship is better than questioning it. Rather than creating distance between them, Jo could become the person encouraging both David and Amelia to be honest about how they really feel.

There is also the possibility that Jo will feel some responsibility for the situationBy repeatedly confronting David and raising her suspicions, she may worry that she unintentionally increased the pressure on both him and Amelia. Helping them move forward could become her way of making amends.

However, if romance is where the story is heading, Jo may ultimately become their biggest supporter. It would be a fitting twist for the very person who first recognised their connection to eventually help bring them together.

This is a fan theory based on current story developments. No future storylines have been confirmed by Home and Away.
