Home and Away spoilers 5–9 October 2026 brings Richie’s return and Zane’s deliberate arrest
Richie wants Abigail back, Lacey softens towards Amelia, and Zane’s rejection of a fresh start ends in an attack on a police officer.
Richie returns hoping for another chance with Abigail in Home and Away this week, just as her family faces an agonising time. There is progress for David and Amelia too, while Zane’s determination to return to prison ends in violence.
Abigail is initially frustrated to see her ex, but quickly reaches for a hug. With Eden trying to discuss the possibility of dying, Abigail has been struggling and welcomes the chance to share her worries.
Richie explains that he has accepted he is not suited to policing and now works in retail. Later, he asks Abigail to meet him on the beach, admits he misses her and says he wants them to try again, leaving before she gives an answer.
Lacey has her own change of heart after joining David and Amelia at Salt. She and Amelia share a drink, acknowledge how much they both care about David and begin to understand each other.
Lacey subsequently tells her dad that Amelia could be good for him. Reassured, David spends the night with Amelia, and they agree to continue their relationship despite its complications.
At Eden’s home, Deb arrives as Cash continues avoiding a discussion about what happens without a matching donor. Running and keeping busy cannot resolve his fear, and Eden eventually asks her parents to leave.
Cash brings Remi over to cheer her up, but Eden recognises the visit as another delay. Deb explains that Eden needs him, and the couple are finally left to have their difficult conversation.
Mackenzie and Levi are also confronting their future after losing their frozen embryos. His anger at the clinic contrasts with her grief, prompting Mali to remind him that they need each other. After further distress, Mackenzie decides against more IVF, with Levi reassuring her that their life together is enough.
Tane pushes Sonny over and objects to his new job at Salt. Mackenzie keeps Sonny employed, while Tane apologises and offers her support when she reveals the loss of the embryos.
Zane rejects Marilyn’s encouragement, John’s driving lessons and the professional help Alf suggests. Talking to Mali and Tane exposes how much he misses prison’s routine.
A warning from David gives him a way to act on that wish. He vandalises the Juice Bar and board shop, then punches an officer after being given a caution, forcing David to arrest him.
