Emmerdale viewers question Thea’s father after Kim’s discovery
Kim Tate discovers Thea is her daughter in Emmerdale, as emotional hospital scenes spark viewer theories about the identity of Thea's father.
Thursday’s emotional hospital scenes have prompted viewers to revisit Kim’s past, with the revelation about Thea’s adoption raising further questions about her biological father and the circumstances surrounding her birth.
Kim finally recognised Thea after examining her driving licence and discovering that her full name was Anthea. Their subsequent conversation revealed that Kim had given her daughter up for adoption in 1999 because she feared losing both Thea and Jamie during a difficult time in her life.

Thea also described her difficult childhood, explaining that her adoptive mother died shortly after her seventh birthday and that she never felt particularly wanted by her adoptive father. The conversation provided a new understanding of the resentment that had driven her campaign against Kim.
However, viewers were quick to notice that one important part of Thea’s family history had not been addressed.
One questioned: “Has it not occurred to Thea to ask who her father is?”
The question led to speculation about two men connected to Kim’s past, with some viewers attempting to work out which relationships could fit Thea’s birth in 1999.
Another suggested: “Surely it’s Steve. Marchant..”
That possibility was challenged by a different viewer, who argued: “No the dates don’t really fit, l reckon it’ll turn out to be Graham (seems the only ‘logical’ choice to me)”.
The competing theories are particularly interesting because Graham has already played a central role in the recent Tate family storyline, including the kidnapping of Joe’s baby. His involvement has placed him close to Kim throughout the events that eventually led to Thea being stabbed.
Thursday’s episode also saw Thea tell Serena that she was having doubts about reporting Kim for the stabbing, suggesting that their conversation had made an impression despite the years of resentment between them.
For viewers, the identity of Thea’s father is therefore only one of the unanswered questions. Kim and Thea have finally discussed the adoption, but the consequences of the stabbing and Thea’s actions against the Tate family have not disappeared.
Neither Graham nor Steve has been confirmed as Thea’s father, and both suggestions remain viewer theories, and viewers will have to wait and see who will be revealed as Theas father!
