Home and Away Spoilers 31 August–4 September: Love, Lies and Second Chances
Home and Away spoilers bring major relationship decisions as Dana confronts Sonny, David pursues Amelia and Marilyn refuses to give up on Zane.
Second chances run through several Summer Bay storylines as Dana decides whether she can ever trust Sonny again, David takes a risk with Amelia and Marilyn remains determined to help Zane.
Sonny finally admits the full truth to Dana about his drug use, including that money borrowed from both Dana and Remi was spent on drugs. His explanation that he planned to recover without ever telling Dana only creates another layer of hurt, as she realises he was prepared to enter their marriage carrying such a significant lie.
Remi later speaks honestly to Dana about her own history with drugs and how Harper helped her through it. Her words give Dana something to consider, and Sonny is ultimately offered one final chance on the condition that there are no more drugs and no more lies.
David has a considerably lighter romantic problem. Once he discovers Amelia is staying in Summer Bay, he arranges a barbecue and invites her along, although Jo, Lacey and Justin immediately realise what he is really doing.
The others eventually disappear and leave the pair alone. David and Amelia bond over their mutual lack of recent dating experience and poor communication skills, but beneath the awkwardness there is genuine interest. By the end, both are clear that another date is something they want.
Marilyn is also determined not to abandon Zane. After Mali discovers him injured and scavenging for food, Marilyn persuades Zane to remain for treatment and promises she is on his side. She eventually moves him into Alf’s home and even makes his employment at the Diner a condition of her own return to work.
There are still doubts around Zane, particularly from Alf and John, but Marilyn remains committed to giving him an opportunity. Zane himself begins to notice Alf’s discomfort and worries that his presence may be creating problems inside the house.
