Home and Away Remi risks friendship fallout as he fights to reunite Dana and Sonny
Home and Away’s Remi refuses to give up on Sonny, but Tane questions his loyalty as he tries to convince Dana that Sonny deserves another chance.
Remi places himself firmly in the middle of Dana and Sonny’s relationship crisis in Home and Away when he agrees to help Sonny make contact after their painful split. His loyalty soon comes under scrutiny, with Tane questioning why he continues backing Sonny after everything that has happened.
Sonny is struggling through withdrawal and repeatedly tries to contact Dana despite being told she needs space. Remi eventually takes his phone away, refusing to allow him to keep sending messages while he is emotional and desperate.
Sonny then begs Remi to reach out instead. Remi reluctantly leaves a voicemail for Dana but refuses to repeatedly chase her when Sonny becomes impatient for a response.
Dana eventually agrees to meet, but Tane questions whether Remi should be helping Sonny at all. After the lies, steroid use and relapse, Tane is understandably protective of Dana and does not want her pressured into returning.
Harper offers a different perspective and defends Sonny. She believes he made a serious mistake but argues that people can still deserve another chance, especially if they are genuinely trying to change.
Dana decides she needs more information before making her choice and asks Remi directly whether he thinks Sonny can recover. Remi tells her that Sonny wants a life with her and suggests that Dana would not be asking these questions if she had stopped caring completely.
Rather than continue arguing the case, Remi eventually brings Dana to Sonny so they can speak privately. The decision finally puts the relationship back where it belongs, between the two people actually involved.
Dana agrees to try working through their problems, giving Sonny the opportunity he has been desperate for. Remi’s intervention may therefore prove crucial, although the fragile trust between the pair shows he cannot repair the relationship for them.
Remi can open the door, but Sonny now has to prove he deserves Dana to keep it open.
