Home and Away Remi refuses to leave Sonny alone after Dana walks out
Home and Away’s Remi steps in when Sonny hits rock bottom, refusing to leave him alone as steroid withdrawal and heartbreak take hold.
Sonny may believe he has lost everything in Home and Away, but Remi refuses to let him face the aftermath alone. After Dana ends their relationship and Sonny starts confronting the reality of his relapse, Remi quietly becomes the support keeping him from falling even further.
Dana confides in John and Remi about what happened, making clear that finding the steroids has destroyed what trust remained. She later confirms that she will stay at Tane’s place rather than continue living with Sonny.
Remi then goes to Sonny’s house and decides he is staying for the night. Sonny is withdrawing, emotionally devastated and ashamed of himself, so Remi refuses to leave him isolated at the exact moment he is most vulnerable.
The following morning, Sonny thanks Remi for being there. That support becomes even more important when Dana arrives to collect her belongings and confirms that the relationship is over.
Sonny desperately pleads with Dana not to go, but she refuses to reconsider and leaves with Tane. Once the car disappears, Sonny finally admits to Remi that he has lost her.
Remi cannot promise Sonny that Dana will return, and he does not try to pretend the relapse was insignificant. Instead, his support is focused on getting Sonny through the immediate withdrawal and helping him start taking responsibility for what comes next.
That makes Remi’s role particularly important. Sonny needs someone who can support his recovery without simply telling him that everything he has done is acceptable.
After everything Remi is already carrying with Eden’s illness, staying with Sonny also shows how much pressure he is taking on for the people around him. He cannot fix either situation, but he refuses to walk away when his friends are struggling.
Sonny’s relationship may be over for now, but Remi ensures he does not have to face the first night of that reality by himself.
