Home and Away’s Marilyn finally finds missing Zane and makes a huge decision about his future after learning how badly he has been struggling alone.
Marilyn’s desperate search for Zane finally ends in Home and Away, but finding him only convinces her that simply bringing him back to Summer Bay is not enough. After discovering how badly he has been struggling alone, she makes a major decision that could transform his fresh start.
Zane is found by Mali while scavenging for food and ends up injured after cutting himself. He initially refuses hospital treatment because he does not want police involved, but Mali eventually convinces him to get the wound checked.
Marilyn is already at home with Leah when Alf brings news that Zane has been found and taken to hospital. She immediately goes after him, determined not to let another opportunity to help him slip away.
Her timing proves crucial because Zane is already preparing to leave again. He has become convinced that everything surrounding his arrival has only created problems for Marilyn, and running seemed easier than watching her friendships suffer because of him.
Marilyn refuses to accept that version of events. She reminds Zane that supporting him has been her choice from the beginning and makes him promise that disappearing will not become his answer whenever things become difficult.
The encounter also shows how differently Marilyn sees Zane compared with the way he sees himself. Zane believes he is a burden, while Marilyn sees someone who needs stability, support and a real opportunity to rebuild.
That belief leads to her biggest decision yet. Rather than send Zane back to the caravan park, Marilyn insists that he move into the house so she can keep a closer eye on him and make sure he is properly looked after.
Zane immediately worries about how Alf will react to suddenly having him under the same roof. Marilyn confidently insists Alf will be completely fine with the arrangement, although Zane is clearly less convinced.
Marilyn has spent weeks arguing that Zane deserves a second chance. Moving him into her home turns that belief into a much bigger commitment and could finally force everyone around her to decide how much of that second chance they are genuinely prepared to support.
