Home and Away Lacey feels pushed out as David and Amelia get serious
Home and Away’s Lacey struggles with David and Amelia growing closer when a family dinner leaves her feeling increasingly left on the outside.
David and Amelia’s romance faces a more personal test in Home and Away when Lacey struggles with the idea that her father’s new relationship may be becoming serious. What begins as a simple dinner quickly exposes how difficult the adjustment feels from her side.
After David and Amelia finish their beach picnic, they unexpectedly run into Jo and Lacey. Amelia excuses herself, leaving David to face questions from his daughters about exactly what is happening between them.
Jo is far more accepting and helps David put his feelings into words. She suggests that if Amelia is going to remain part of his life, Lacey may find the situation easier if she actually gets the chance to know her.
That leads to all four sitting down together at Salt, with Amelia admitting she is nervous about the whole situation. Lacey is direct with her questions, making it clear that she is not going to simply sit back and pretend the new relationship means nothing to her.
The atmosphere begins to loosen as Amelia shares stories from her work, while David and Jo become increasingly engaged in the conversation. When the subject turns to emergency work during a full moon, Lacey starts to feel as though everyone else is connecting while she is sitting on the outside.
Eventually, Lacey excuses herself and David quickly follows to check on her. He is clearly worried that the dinner has moved too quickly and wants to understand how his daughter is really feeling.
Lacey insists she is okay and admits something important despite her discomfort. She can see that her dad genuinely likes Amelia, even if she is still working out what that means for their family.
The moment gives David and Amelia’s romance much more emotional weight because their relationship is no longer only about the two of them. If it continues to grow, David will also need to make sure his daughters feel included rather than left behind by the changes happening around them.
