Cash eventually finds Harper frantically packing her car and preparing to run. She has also turned off location sharing, severing one of the ways Beau had been able to keep track of where she was.
Rather than simply tell Harper to stay put, Cash explains exactly what her cooperation could mean. Beau is in custody, the bruise is potential evidence and speaking to police could help them finally put together a case strong enough to hold him accountable.
Harper agrees to go to the station, but doing so means allowing Cash to photograph an injury connected to something she had desperately tried not to face. Her decision marks a significant change from protecting Beau’s secrets to allowing the truth to be documented.
The impact becomes clear when Beau notices Harper at the station. He immediately realises she is not there to support his version of events and lashes out, showing how quickly his attitude changes once he senses he is losing control.
Tane later comforts Harper as David finally arrests Beau. The arrest is important, but Harper’s decision to walk into the station and stop maintaining Beau’s story is arguably the bigger turning point for her.
Harper had previously admitted she did not want the truth about Beau to be real. Now she is choosing to face it, and the evidence Beau wanted concealed could become part of what finally brings his control over her to an end.
