Home and Away David and Amelia Romance Takes Off After Awkward Date
Home and Away spoilers see David make his move on Amelia with an awkward barbecue date, before the pair admit they both want to see where things could lead.
David finally makes his move on Amelia in upcoming Home and Away scenes, although his attempt at romance does not exactly begin smoothly.
After discovering from Justin that Amelia is staying in Summer Bay for longer, David decides he does not want to waste his chance. He tells Jo and Lacey they are hosting a mandatory barbecue before calling Amelia and inviting her over for lunch.
Justin arrives armed with a pavlova, while Jo and Lacey are surprised to discover Amelia is sticking around. The girls quickly realise what David is really hoping to achieve, but Justin struggles to convince him to stop concentrating on the barbecue and actually spend some time talking to Amelia.
Eventually, Justin gives up and makes his excuses to leave. Jo and Lacey soon follow, conveniently finding reasons to disappear and finally leaving David and Amelia alone together.
Amelia is well aware of what everyone is doing and decides to be direct with David. She makes it clear she is not interested in wasting her time, prompting David to reassure her that moving things forward is something they both want.
The pair continue getting to know each other, although David’s romantic skills remain somewhat rusty. When he brings out some red wine, Amelia initially needs to leave for work, and David admits his attempt at arranging a date has not exactly gone according to plan.
Rather than ending badly, their awkwardness actually brings them closer. As they clean up together, David and Amelia bond over the fact neither of them is particularly good at communicating when it comes to romance, while both also admit they do not have much recent dating experience.
David eventually persuades Amelia to stay a little longer for some pavlova, and the conversation gives them the chance to be clearer about what they want. David confirms he is ready to move forward, with the attraction between them clearly mutual.
Justin later tells Leah about David using the entire barbecue as an excuse to spend time with Amelia, leaving them amused that such a confident police officer appears to have very few moves when it comes to dating.
When Lacey and Justin eventually return, they expect to find David disappointed. Instead, he is delighted that everyone left him alone with Amelia and reveals things went much better than expected.
It certainly looks as though another date could be on the cards for David and Amelia, but whether their new romance can continue without quite so much help from everyone around them remains to be seen.
