David and Amelia finally begin to clear the air in upcoming Home and Away scenes as an emotional conversation at the Surf Club fundraiser brings them closer together once again.

Following an awkward period between the pair, both David and Amelia arrive at the fundraiser expecting nothing more than to support the local community. Instead, they find themselves unexpectedly crossing paths after Leah and Justin unknowingly invite them both to the event.

Earlier, Leah apologises to Amelia for involving herself in matters that were never hers to interfere with. Amelia accepts the apology, while Leah and Justin later agree they should keep their distance from whatever is happening between David and Amelia in future.

That promise doesn’t last very long. Justin also spends time checking in on David, encouraging him to stop dwelling on Amelia and begin looking ahead. Although David admits he has found the situation difficult, he accepts Justin’s advice and agrees it may be time to move on.

Neither David nor Amelia realises they have both been invited to the same event until they arrive at the Surf Club. The unexpected reunion creates an awkward atmosphere, with both initially choosing to keep their distance rather than risk another uncomfortable conversation.

As the fundraiser gets underway, Amelia notices David looking emotional while watching Lacey welcome the crowds as master of ceremonies. Sensing something is wrong, she decides to put their recent difficulties aside and quietly asks whether he is alright.

David explains that seeing Lacey standing in front of the audience unexpectedly reminded him of his late wife. The memory leaves him visibly upset, giving Amelia a glimpse of the grief he continues to carry despite trying to move forwards.

Wanting to support him, Amelia listens carefully as David opens up. The heartfelt conversation gradually shifts towards the growing distance that has developed between them, allowing David to finally ask the question that has been on his mind for days.

Rather than revealing the full truth, Amelia offers a carefully measured explanation. She tells David she has simply been trying to navigate the challenges of working as a doctor in a close knit community, where professional boundaries can easily become blurred.

Although the explanation doesn’t reveal everything Amelia is feeling, it is enough to reassure David that their friendship doesn’t have to end completely.

Encouraged by the conversation, David asks whether they can at least remain friends going forward. It is a request that leaves Amelia torn, knowing her feelings run much deeper than friendship alone.

Despite her inner conflict, Amelia agrees. While she presents a calm and reassuring smile, it is clear she is hiding emotions she still isn’t ready to share.

The conversation marks an important turning point for the pair. Although they appear to have repaired some of the damage caused by recent misunderstandings, Amelia’s decision to keep her true feelings hidden suggests there may still be difficult conversations ahead.

For now, David leaves believing they have found a way to move forward, but whether friendship will be enough for Amelia remains to be seen as their story continues to unfold.
