Home and Away Cash ready to quit police to stay with Eden
Home and Away’s Cash makes a huge decision as Eden remains in hospital, telling David he will quit the police if that is what it takes to stay beside her.
Cash reaches breaking point in Home and Away as Eden’s hospital battle forces him to decide what matters most. With his wife seriously ill, he makes it clear that his job will come second if anyone tries to keep him away from her.
After leaving Eden’s bedside, Cash submits a request for leave. David initially suggests the timing is difficult, but Cash refuses to back down and tells him that Eden is in hospital and needs him.
The situation quickly becomes more serious when Cash makes clear that he is prepared to resign if necessary. For him, there is no debate over whether work takes priority because being with Eden is the only thing he is willing to focus on.
David soon realises how much pressure Cash is under and changes approach. He brings him into his office, promises to sort out the leave and encourages him to concentrate only on the things he can control.
That advice lands at a crucial moment. Cash is already questioning whether he should have noticed Eden’s worsening health sooner, adding guilt to the fear he is carrying about what could happen next.
David urges him not to become trapped in thoughts about what he did or did not see before the diagnosis. Eden needs him now, and that is the part of the situation Cash can actually do something about.
Even after getting the reassurance he needs from David, the emotional strain does not disappear. Cash has spent much of the crisis trying to stay composed for Eden and everyone around her, but the weight of what is happening continues to build.
His willingness to walk away from the police shows just how frightened he is. Cash has no intention of missing precious time with Eden while doctors work out what her treatment and recovery could look like.
For now, David makes sure Cash does not have to choose between his career and his wife. The bigger question is whether Cash can stop blaming himself long enough to simply be the support Eden needs beside her.
