Hollyoaks: Theresa's dream future with Dodger is built on a heartbreaking secret

Theresa is looking forward to a fresh start with Dodger, but viewers know her dream future could soon come crashing down. While she excitedly plans the next chapter of their lives together, the man she loves is secretly questioning whether he wants to be with someone else.

In upcoming scenes, Theresa throws herself into preparations for their new family home, happily thinking about colours and décor as she imagines the life they will build together. Sadly, she has no idea that Dodger has been spending his time thinking about Cleo instead.

After weeks recovering in hospital, Dodger has had plenty of opportunity to reflect on his life and the choices in front of him. Rather than strengthening his commitment to Theresa, that time has led him to realise his feelings for Cleo have never truly gone away.

Instead of returning home focused on his relationship, Dodger arranges to meet Cleo in secret at the hospital. It is a decision that immediately places Theresa at the centre of a painful situation she knows nothing about.

That is what makes the storyline so heartbreaking. Theresa is not acting suspiciously or expecting the worst. Quite the opposite, she is looking ahead with optimism, believing she and Dodger are moving towards a happy future together.

The audience, however, has a very different perspective. Every plan Theresa makes is overshadowed by the knowledge that Dodger is wrestling with emotions he has not shared with her.

The situation is equally difficult for Cleo. She has no desire to hurt Theresa, and the guilt surrounding their growing connection is impossible to ignore. Even so, spending time with Dodger threatens to bring long buried feelings back to the surface.

Dodger's decision to seek Cleo out suggests this is far more than a passing moment of uncertainty. He appears determined to find out whether there is still a future between them before making any permanent decisions about his relationship.

Unfortunately for Theresa, she remains completely unaware that these conversations are taking place behind her back. As she dreams about decorating their new home and settling into family life, the foundations of that future are becoming increasingly fragile.

The longer the secret continues, the greater the risk that Theresa will discover the truth in the worst possible way. If she learns that Dodger has been meeting Cleo without telling her, the betrayal could prove just as devastating as the feelings themselves.

With one woman planning a future and another trying to resist the man she still loves, all eyes are now on Dodger. He may finally understand where his heart lies, but telling Theresa the truth could be the hardest decision he has ever had to make.
