Hollyoaks Spoilers 31 August–2 September: Ste Relapses as Mercedes Faces Danger

Ste’s grief over Rex takes a worrying turn as Hollyoaks heads into a dramatic three episodes, while Gemma’s secrets threaten to put Mercedes, Leela and Ste directly in danger.

Ste relapses and turns to alcohol before drunkenly accusing James of murdering Rex. Warren steps in, but James unexpectedly becomes protective of Ste as his grief spirals. When Lucas returns to the village, he tries to stop new friend Xander from continuing to snoop around, while Leah is shocked by the state Ste is in.

Despite his hangover and grief, Ste remains determined to uncover what really happened to Rex.

Gemma faces pressure of her own when Donny begins asking difficult questions about what his daughter has been doing. Warren later shares a touching moment with Gemma, only for Xander to interrupt and openly accuse her of murder.

Gemma’s response takes an even darker direction when she gives Mercedes a spa voucher. Mercedes invites Leela and Ste along, unaware Gemma has arranged for a gang of men to follow her car as part of a plan to dispose of her.

The decision puts Leela and Ste in danger too, turning what should have been a relaxing spa trip into something potentially much more sinister.

Elsewhere, Nancy suffers an MS relapse and Dee Dee calls Abigail for help. Their relationship later deteriorates, leaving Dee Dee particularly nervous when she has to read aloud in class while Abigail watches smugly.

Lucas also has some explaining to do when Leah questions him. He decides to open up, hoping his honesty might encourage his sister to reveal secrets of her own.
