Hollyoaks Spoilers 31 August–2 September: Gemma’s Murder Plot Explodes

Gemma finds herself at the centre of an increasingly dangerous Hollyoaks storyline as questions about her behaviour grow and her latest plan puts three unsuspecting villagers at risk.

Donny begins asking his daughter some serious questions, putting Gemma under pressure over what she has been doing. Warren later shares a touching moment with her, but the conversation is interrupted when Xander arrives and accuses Gemma of murder.

The confrontation comes as Lucas returns to the village and tries to stop Xander, his new friend, from snooping around. Lucas later faces questions from Leah and decides that opening up himself could encourage his sister to share whatever she may be hiding too.

Gemma then gives Mercedes a spa voucher, but there is a disturbing motive behind the apparent gift. Mercedes sets off with Leela and Ste, completely unaware that Gemma has instructed a gang of men to follow her car as part of a plan to dispose of her.

By involving Mercedes’ companions without them knowing, Gemma also places Ste and Leela directly in danger.

Ste already has enough to contend with after relapsing and hitting the bottle as his grief for Rex overwhelms him. He drunkenly accuses James of killing Rex, prompting Warren to intervene, although James surprisingly becomes protective of Ste.

Leah is later shocked by Ste’s condition, but his determination to find out the truth about Rex remains intact.

Elsewhere, Nancy suffers an MS relapse and Dee Dee contacts Abigail for help. Relations between Dee Dee and Abigail subsequently turn sour, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere when Dee Dee has to read aloud in class with Abigail watching.
