Hollyoaks Ro Hutchinson faces heartbreaking Rex aftermath

Hollyoaks will put Ro’s grief at the centre of emotional upcoming scenes as the teenager struggles to come to terms with losing Rex.

Determined to make sure his friend is remembered, Ro decides to organise a memorial service in the park and approaches Ste for his blessing. The event brings the community together, with colourful decorations filling the park as those closest to Rex gather to celebrate his life.

The loss has hit Ro particularly hard, with Rex having become an important person in his life. After everything Ro has already experienced, another devastating loss leaves him facing a difficult period as he tries to process what has happened.

Tony is also struggling with his own grief, meaning father and son are both attempting to cope with Rex’s death while supporting each other. Ro does have other people around him, however, with his siblings among those he can lean on as he begins trying to move forward.

Abigail also becomes an important source of support. She delivers an emotional speech at the memorial dedicated to Rex, while Ro appears increasingly surrounded by people who understand just how much his friend meant to him.

The wider village also turns out to remember Rex, giving Ro the chance to see just how many lives his friend touched. Although the memorial cannot take away what has happened, the show appears set to explore how being surrounded by family and community could help Ro through the darkest part of his grief.

Rex’s death is far from the only issue still hanging over the village, with questions continuing over exactly what happened to him and Ste beginning his own search for answers. For Ro, however, the immediate focus is much more personal as he faces life without someone who had become an important part of it.

The memorial promises to be a moving celebration of Rex’s life while also marking the beginning of a difficult new chapter for Ro.
