Hollyoaks Leah Hay joins dramatic Rex murder investigation

Hollyoaks will pull Leah further into the mystery surrounding Rex’s death as she joins Ste in searching for answers about what really happened.

Ste is still struggling with the loss of his husband when Ro organises a memorial service in the park, bringing the community together to remember Rex. The emotional gathering gives those closest to him a chance to celebrate his life, but it does little to settle the questions continuing to trouble Ste.

Martin has already come forward and revealed that he was paid to kill Rex, yet Ste remains uneasy about the full story. His suspicions also extend to James, particularly when he discovers him hanging around his home and quickly orders him out.

Rather than allowing the matter to rest, Ste turns to Leah for help. Leah begins doing some online investigating into Martin as father and daughter attempt to discover whether there is anything else that could shed light on Rex’s murder.

The development puts Leah firmly beside Ste during one of the most difficult periods of his life. She has already been supporting her dad through his grief, but she now becomes part of his determination to understand exactly what happened to Rex.

There are still unanswered questions surrounding James too. His disappearance for an entire year, along with uncertainty over what he was doing during that time, leaves Ste increasingly suspicious as James attempts to re-enter his life.

James later arrives at Ste’s door carrying flowers as he tries to get back into his good books. However, with Ste already questioning whether James knows more than he has admitted, his attempt to rebuild their relationship may come at exactly the wrong time.

Leah’s involvement could now prove important as Ste refuses to give up on finding the truth. While Martin’s confession appeared to provide one major answer, the continuing investigation suggests Ste believes there is still considerably more to uncover.

With Leah helping him dig deeper and James once again close by, Rex’s death looks set to keep casting a long shadow over Ste and his family.
