Hollyoaks: Can Cleo really ignore her feelings for Dodger?
Cleo faces an impossible choice as Dodger admits how he feels, but can she put her own happiness before her loyalty to Theresa?
Cleo finds herself facing an impossible dilemma as Dodger opens up about his true feelings, leaving her torn between following her heart and protecting someone she cares deeply about.
After weeks of uncertainty, Dodger seeks Cleo out following his recovery in hospital. Having spent time reflecting on his life, he has come to a significant realisation and wants Cleo to know exactly how he feels. For him, it is an honest conversation that has been a long time coming.
For Cleo, however, the situation is far more complicated. While Dodger's words may reflect everything she once hoped to hear, accepting them could have painful consequences for everyone involved.
The biggest obstacle standing in her way is Theresa. Completely unaware that Dodger has been questioning their future together, Theresa is happily planning the next stage of their lives and looking forward to moving into their new family home.
Knowing that makes Cleo's position incredibly difficult. She has no desire to betray Theresa or become the reason another relationship falls apart, even if she still has unresolved feelings of her own.
That emotional conflict is at the centre of the storyline. Rather than rushing into a romantic reunion, Cleo has to weigh up what her own happiness is worth if it comes at someone else's expense.
Dodger appears convinced that honesty is the best way forward after spending so much time reflecting during his recovery. His decision to meet Cleo privately suggests he believes there is still a future worth fighting for, but that does not automatically mean Cleo will agree.
In many ways, Cleo has even more to lose. Choosing Dodger could damage family relationships, create lasting resentment and leave her carrying the blame for breaking Theresa's heart. Walking away, on the other hand, could mean giving up the chance to be with the man she truly loves.
It is that emotional tug of war that gives the story its strongest moments. Cleo is not simply deciding between two relationships. She is trying to balance love, loyalty and guilt, knowing that whichever path she chooses will have lasting consequences.
Viewers have seen Cleo face many challenges over the years, but this decision could become one of her toughest. No matter what she decides, someone is almost certain to be left heartbroken.
Whether Cleo listens to her heart or continues putting everyone else first remains to be seen. What is clear is that Dodger's unexpected confession has forced her to confront feelings she can no longer pretend do not exist.
